Love Is Essential In Evangelism

I look at the Bible and I see a God who is steadfast, slow to anger, abounding in love, grace, mercy, forgiveness. You look at the lives and mistakes of Abraham, Moses, the Israelites,David, Peter, Paul, and on and on. Even with you and I he is steadfast and never gives up in loving us. "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only son that who believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16. As a father I cannot fathom that kind of love. Jesus in the gospels time and time again loves the sinner. Eats with the sinner. Visits with the sinner. Accepts the sinner when others wouldn't (Zacheous). How many times on television do you see "Christians" gay pride marches yelling God hates faggots at homosexuals? Is that love? Is that the way to lead the lost to Christ? Is that the way to make a disciple of Christ? "Christians" in the past have bombed abortion clinics. Is that love? Is that the way to make disciples of Christ? Is that the way to save the lost? Jesus says all men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another." 1 John is an entire book on love. We must love. Why? What is God? Love. He who does not love does not know God because God is what? Love.

We all are sinners "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Do most people in churches see themselves that way? Why or why not? Is it important in evangelism? In reaching out to the lost why is love essential? Does the church of Christ love sinners, the lost, wanting to make disciples of Christ? Are we to self-focused(How to do worship, communion, woman's role in the church, who to fellowship with, instruments or not, Bible class or not, etc, instead of the lost)? How to the lost see the church of Christ? If good, then great! If not, then what can be done about it? How can we be warm and welcoming like Jesus to the lost? What can we do to become more outreach oriented as a whole? What is your church doing?
Let us be known for our love so the lost may recieve the grace of God that they desprately need. Amen.
I just thank God for his love and grace everyday, that His grace is bigger that we can ever imagine.

Sin, Do We Call It What It Is?

Sin, Do we call it what it is? "The person was having an affair." Instead of committing adultery. Do we call sin what it is? Are afraid of offending? Do we preach not to offend? We living in a society where the worst sin that a person can commit is telling someone that they are wrong. Or more over we are afraid of being wrong. So, what do we do in a society of anything goes? Sin is watered down? Do we call sin what sin is? Is wrong still wrong in the eyes of God even when society says its okay? Are we afraid to offend? You do hear people say do it with love, even though, we do it with love, will people still be offended. Jesus tell his disciples what? The worlds going to hate us. Sin is sin even when the world around us says calls it something else or gives it the thumbs up.

Is Worship Boring?

Maybe you can recall when you where 5 years old telling your mom or dad that you didn't want to go to church because it was "boring". As you got older as a teenager you didn't want to go to church and hear some old man quote thee's and thou's, making you feel like you where never good enough to get to heaven anyway. Boring. So what. Who cares. How does this church stuff apply to my life? Right. Maybe you have been there. Maybe you are there right now. Are we as a Church right there right now. Are we constantly changing thing because we find thing dull and boring. Do we try to spice things up then only after a while we then find them boring once again? You can find many book on how to make worship not so boring. What does it say about our culture? Our churches when we find worship boring? When we constantly change the way we do worship. I have nothing wrong with change if it needs to be change and the change is Biblical and authorized by God and Spirit lead. What is worship really about? Who is the focus? Who is the center? If done with the right heart and focus should it be boring? Are we too worried about what people are going to think about our worship services that we forget about what it is all about?

I believe our worship must be focused up on God. He is the reason we worship. If we don't the rocks are going to cry out!
We must worship in "Spirit" and "Truth". It means to mean that must worship withall of our heart, soul, strength, mind, and Biblically. Our message must but applicable. It must be applied to the life of the Christian. What does that mean to you?
I believe as we worship God believers will leave challenged, encouraged, strengthened, equipted, determined, convicted, moved, etc.

When You Fast?

Matthew 6:16:When you fast do not look somber..." Jesus sermon on the mount he says, When you fast, not if, but when does that mean that we as ministers should preach to our congregations on fasting? Jesus fast 40 days before being tempted so why don't we hear more teaching and preaching about fasting? Does it have to do with American culture? Should Christians practice fasting? What benifits are there to fasting and prayer? Have you seen any in your life? Ministry? Church? Share them if you like.
