Make A Difference

As you have seen on the news, there are thousands of believers who have lost their homes and communities that have lost their churches in this massive flooding situation in the Midwest. I want you to know that you can make a difference in the lives of those who need it. One way you can help is by visiting and letting your congregations get involved with the church of Christ disaster relief effort. Their webiste is

http://www.disasterreliefeffort.org/

I would like for everyone to pray for these families and churches as well. Let let them know how much they are loved. If you would like to leave a word of kindness or prayer on my blog you can do so. Let's gather together and make a difference in America for those who are hurting.

If you know of any other ways in which we can get involved and help or you have any information please feel free to share it here.

Share your thoughts and prayers.
God bless.

Preacherman,
I agree with Mike that this should be something we should be about and I am spending the weekend praying and looking for ways to go down and help during my vacation.

Being a New Yorker, I really don't think there is anything that we have not dealt with...we have had it all.

I must say prayers do get answered. The Lord does hear, see and respond. He is a wonderful Saviour. He prophesied the troubles we would have and He said to stay faithful to the end.

Stand firm brothers and sisters, you are the chosen one's, you have the Lord of all creation abiding in you and that my family makes you limitless, you have the power to over come ALL THINGS because nothing is impossible for HIM and HE lives in YOU.

I pray this: Jesus, You are in control of all things, the Father has put everything in Your hands and You live in us. Lord, bring our brothers & sisters to the revelation of their capabilities in YOU. That they remember who they are--that they stand firm, that they stay real, that they even in their disaster remember to be there for all. Your Word promises that we do not want or need. You said that those who have accepted You are provided for, all provision is their's and then they in their blessing can bring the truth of Your Word to others and help them to help others. We thank You Jesus that all these things have already been done---that all our brothers & sisters are safe and provided for and are out there right this minute, spreading Your love, Your truth....thank You in Your Precious Name.......Amen.

Keep praying all---

Prayers are lifted up daily for those suffering in the Midwest. We often become comfortable and distant from such suffering. I need to wake up to the cold fact that it could be me!

Wrestling in prayer........

I think it is wonderful to see Christians supporting, working, and praying to make a such an impact on those who are suffering both believers and unbelievers. I praise God for those who demonstrate their faith in this way. I pray that more Christians get involved in helping those of o our fellow Americans who need it. Thank you Kinney for letting us know about the website and allowing us to shine the light on this issue.

We are called to affect lives. My wife and I believe in affecting lives to the benefit of the human family.
Finances are tight for us. We will pray about it as we look over our finances to see what we can donate.
Thanks for the opportunity.
Jim

Remember the recent disasters in this part of the world (China and Myanmar) as well. We can still see the struggles facing our Chinese brothers and sisters in the wake of these disasters and it will be a long road for them. It is especially difficult for those new to the Way who are questioning if He really exists in the midst of tragedy. Prayers for our side of the globe are also coveted. Thanks

Kinney I know my uncle lost everything. He lost his house, cattle and crops. He and my aunt appreciate post like this one. It helps them know that other brothers and sisters in Christ care. I know your blog has been a strength to them during this difficult time that they are going through.

Thank you Preacherman for focusing our attention on this great way to help other Americans. I believe alot of times we help people overseas and other countries and ignore our own. We need to understand yes missionaries in China need our help but so do American Christians. Let's not ignore or neglect those American Christians who need help. Hundreds possibly thousands of churches have been lost in the flooding not to mention the homes of countless believers. So, come on people and lets do what we can to help!

Rogueminister,
I appreciate you reminding us of those who have been hurt and needing help in China and other parts of the world. We should do what we can to make a difference worldwide. It is so important that we take care of those serving the Church wherever it is. Thank you for your caring heart. I see your passion and am inspired.

Tom,
Thanks for your prayers.

Cheryl,
Thanks for sharing with us.
Your prayer is so wonderful.
I love Psalm 116:1-2.
Powerful.

Billy,
I am sorry to hear about your uncle. Will you let us know if there is anything we can do.

Anonymous,
I believe that Christians do care about those who are in the U.S. As I mentioned we should not see nationality we should see believers for who they are and help whenever we can. Please understand that it is great to help Christians overseas and in the U.S. Thank you for expressing your opinion. Everyone's opinion is welcome.

Good to see you posting on this. I've posted on the topic a couple of times, including earlier this morning (6/25/08).

This is "close to home" for those of us in the States, so I hope we'll take the opportunity to help out. If I lived back in my native Missouri I believe I'd volunteer.

Thanks again for your complementing me on my blogs. I will admit, I worked hard at putting the "Love One Another" blog together before posting it.
I wish I could do some simple blogs like yours and draw readers. You are a popular guy.
The "Journaling for Growth" blog is just that. I want to keep the "Love One Another" message alive. So, as I reach for God's hand, I will journal and post my entries. Obviously, I will not be taking as much time to put things together.
Now, about your "Kinny's Progress" blog. Every time I go there, there is nothing. What will we see. You are keeping us in suspence.
Jim.
