Moving to Kerrville!!!

The Church of Christ in Rocksprings has been such a wonderful church to my family and I. It has grown closer to God and each other over the last five years. Our boys have grown here and we have made relationships that will last a lifetime.

In this church it feels more like a family than a church. Today my family and I are moving to Kerrville, Tx. Tess will be graduating from Schreiner University with a degree in Accounting and Information Systems in December. She will be working starting in January as Kerr County Assistant Aditor. We are so busy packing and loading right now. I just can't wait until we get everything unloaded, set up and setttled into our new house. I will be preaching in Rocksprings until December. If you know of any churches in the Hill Country that are hiring any ministers or associate ministers I would be interested.

I want to thank everyone for their continued prayers as we make this transition in our life. All of you readers have been such a blessing to me. You make blogging worthwhile. So, I may be out of pocket until I get settled in but want everyone to know that I have not and will not stop blogging. God bless each and every one of you.

Blasphemy-The Eternal Sin?

In my years of ministry I have had from time to time Christians come into my office wondering and stressed out that they have committed the unforgivable sin. The Christians who had believed that they had committed this eternal sin wanted to repent and change their life in becoming a better believer. As they had this desire in their life I assured them that they had not committed this sin.

The questions I want us to look at and discuss are: What is blasphemy? Why do so many Christians think that they have committed this sin? Why is blasphemy unforgivable? Do you think we stress the seriousness of this sin in churches today? Do think it is important for clergy and other leaders in the church to educate believers about blasphemy? Why? How would that help their spiritual life? Would it remove guilt that many have today in believing they have committed this sin? Have you personally felt as if you have committed this sin? Why do so many believers think that they have committed it? What do you think can be done in dealing with this subject? What are other sins that Christians treat as unforgivable (ie: homosexuality and divorce)?
